According to reports from Mirror Football, in-demand striker Romelu Lukaku is ready to sign a new contract at Everton.
The Belgium international netted 18 times in the Premier League last season, bringing his overall return in the top flight to 60 goals in 149 appearances.
That has seen the 23-year-old generate plenty of interest from Everton’s Premier League rivals ahead of the summer window.
Indeed, earlier this week, The Sun reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had held talks with the 6 foot 3 striker, who the Toffees rate at a whopping £65million.
Former employers Chelsea have also been linked with Lukaku and back in March, the former Anderlecht youngster suggested he would look to leave Goodison Park this summer for Champions League football.
As quoted by Sky Sports, he said; “That is the next step for me. I’m 23 next summer and I think it would be nice to play in the Champions League from next season.”
But the latest reports from Mirror Football suggest Lukaku is set to make a dramatic u-turn on his future and sign an improved contract with the Merseyside outfit.
The Toffees frontman is allegedly impressed by the ambition shown by new owner Farhad Mashiri and now believes the club can qualify for the Champions League.
