Everton fans will be welcomed with some negative news this Sunday, with star striker Romelu Lukaku admitting that he has made a decision over his future – which looks to be a move away from Goodison Park.
The Toffees had an inconsistent 2015-16 campaign under Roberto Martinez and missed out on European qualification, with a host of their prize assets expected to be tempted away by some of the continent’s biggest clubs this summer.
Lukaku has been a rare bright point for the Merseyside outfit, scoring 18 Premier League goals and continuing in his status as one of the most feared number nines in English football.
The Belgium international is set to feature at Euro 2016 and there will surely be a scramble for his signature this summer.
Former club Chelsea are one of the sides linked with Lukaku, while Manchester United are also a reported suitor.
Lukaku has stated that he has made a decision over where he will play his football next season.
“In my mind I’ve already taken a decision about my future. We will see,” The Daily Mail quote the striker as saying.
“I keep it for me. A lot of clubs are interested, some of which are already very concrete for five years.”
When asked whether he could rejoin Chelsea, Lukaku refused to rule it out.
“We’ll see,” he admitted.
