Everton star James McCarthy has revealed that he is ready to finish the season on a high note after suffering a number of injuries that have kept him out of action, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old played the full 90 minutes in their 0-0 draw against Liverpool after having not featured for his side since December 28.
He was suffering from a reoccurring hamstring problem that continuously left him sidelined on more than one occasion, prompting him to make some changes to his training methods.
It is believed that McCarthy has now changed his technique, boots, and insoles, in order to finally put his injury nightmare behind him.
“There have been a few changes to the way I do things: boots, insoles and quite a few other things.
“So hopefully now I can kick on and have a good end to the season.
“It’s a good feeling to pull on the blue jersey and get back out there again.”
After picking up a point against their local rivals in the Merseyside Derby, the Irish holding midfielder is out to register all three points for his side when they face league leaders Chelsea on Wednesday.
“We’re looking forward to going to Stamford Bridge and we’re looking for three points,” he added.
The Toffees have been struggling so far this season, currently sitting 12th in the Premier League, with massive 17 points separating them from a Champions League spot.
