Everton have signed free agent Felipe Mattioni on trial as they begin monitoring his progress in the Under-21 squad, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old played his first match for the youth side in the 3-1 win over Norwich City on Tuesday, featuring for 85 minutes.
Mattioni has previously played for Gremio, AC Milan, Real Mallorca, and Espanyol, but his career has been halted due to a large number of injury problems and has constantly been on the move.
Toffees boss Roberto Martinez will be keeping an eye on the right-back as he is believed to still be keen on adding more defensive players into his squad.
He also recently completed a deal to sign centre-back Ramiro Funes Mori from Argentine outfits River Plate during the summer for £9.5million.
However, Martinez is now likely to be preparing his side for the upcoming Merseyside derby clash with Liverpool before facing Manchester United in the following fixture.
