Defeat for either side in this FA Cup semi-final may well see either manager pushed out of the door. Roberto Martinez and Louis van Gaal have both fallen dramatically short of their expectations and are at risk of being unemployed for the summer break.
Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku have been the rare bright sparks for the two clubs and the onus is on these four players to produce some entertaining stuff at Wembley today.
Rashford in particular has made a name for himself as a big game goal scorer and he will be relishing the opportunity, even if from the bench, to attack the shaky Everton defence. Suspension for Funes Mori means the out of form John Stones and a partially fit Phil Jagielka are likely to play, whilst the rest of the side have been left to compensate for one of Europe’s most shaky defences. With just the three points from their last seven Premier League games, the Toffees could not be less prepared for a massive game at Wembley.
Manchester United, on the other hand, have won six of their last eight league matches as they have managed to ease the pressure on Van Gaal.
Its a massive game for both bosses… so let’s hope they’ve got their starting XIs spot on..
