Everton worried by Chelsea’s push for £30m defender

Everton are worried that they will lose John Stones to Chelsea this summer despite issuing several ‘hands-off’ warnings to the English champions, according to reports from the Independent.

Stones has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park these past few weeks, with Manchester United also keen on the highly-rated centre-back.

The Red Devils have yet to make a concrete offer for the Toffees star, but the Blues have already submitting two bids in the region of £20million and £26million that were both rejected by Everton.

And according to reports, Chelsea are now preparing a third offer that would be too hard for the Merseyside club’s hierarchy to turn down, which would force the Toffees to look for an adequate replacement.

The likes of Swansea ace Ashley Williams and Man United’s Jonny Evans are both being considered by the Everton board if Stones decides to leave for the Premier League holders.

The 20-year-old played 28 games in all competitions last season, scoring one goal.
