Everton yet to move for Dutch ace

Stefan De Vrij

Everton are yet to approach Feyenoord over the availability of highly rated defender Stefan De Vrij despite reports claiming otherwise, as reported by Sky Sports.

De Vrij is thought of as one of the best young defenders in Europe and a number of Premier League clubs have sent scouts to watch him in recent months, including Manchester United and Liverpool.

The Toffees are leading the race for the Feyenoord defender though and despite not yet making an offer, are expected to tempt the Dutch international to Goodison Park this summer.

The 21 year old’s future is not clear and the Rotterdam club are clearly wary of suitors making a move sooner rather than later.

Despite dismissing rumours that approaches have already been made, Feyenoord have let the need to let the public know in order to start a bidding war.

“No club, including Everton, has made an approach for Stefan,” Feyenoord technical director Martin van Geel told Algemeen Dagblad.
