Stoke City goalkeeper Shay Given believes that Tottenham Hotspur will have a fight on their hands to keep Dele Alli due to the amount of clubs that are bound to want him.

The England international has been in fine form this season, scoring 16 goals and making five others in 31 Premier League appearances.

The midfielder, who only recently turned 21, has been rewarded by being voted the PFA Young Player of the Year for a second season running.

It would be no surprise if plenty of elite clubs around the globe stood up and took notice of Alli’s talent, and Barcelona legend Xavi believes that his former boss Pep Guardiola could try to lure the youngster to Manchester City this summer.

While speaking to The Sun, Xavi, who now plies his trade in Qatar for Al Sadd, described Alli as the best English player around at the moment and one of the best in Europe.

Given, who has been struggling for game time this season, gave his thoughts on the situation and he believes that City will be one of many keeping tabs on Alli.

The goalkeeper told talkSPORT:

"He is a class player. He is still only 21 years of age and he has got the biggest future ahead of him. I think every club in world football would want to sign Dele Alli.

"It comes down to Tottenham and how ambitious they are going to be to keep hold of their big players. Harry Kane has been mentioned as well. It is up to Tottenham if they stay or go. But I think there will be a host of clubs wanting Dele Alli. He is a class player.”
