Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has claimed that number-one goalkeeper Iker Casillas will not be leaving the Santiago Bernabeu amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, Metro reports.
The Premier League duo have recently been linked with a move for the Spain international with rumours suggesting Casillas was set to leave Madrid.
The 33-year-old has been in poor form ever since a horrid time at the World Cup, and made another error in Spain’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Slovakia last week.
However despite this, Ancelotti insists that Casillas will remain a one-club man at Real Madrid.
“The matter is closed,” he said.
“His future is here, it is part of the history of this club and in a few years, when he retires as a football player, Iker will come to this forum along with other great champions at the club to talk about all the European Cups he has won with this shirt.”
The news will force Arsenal and Liverpool to look elsewhere for a new shot-stopper, with the Reds looking still monitoring former Barcelona star and free agent Victor Valdes.
