Future Everton starlet Shani Tarashaj was at the Merseyside club this undergoing fitness tests before joining Roberto Martinez’s first-team squad this summer, The Liverpool Echo report.
The Toffees were quick to identify the 21-year-old forward as a player of potential and splashed £3 million on the attacker in the January transfer window.
Tarashaj has been loaned back to Grasshoppers Zurich for the rest of this season but is preparing for life in England in the 2016-17 campaign.
Roberto Martinez confirmed that the young Swiss star had been to Goodison Park and was preparing for his impending move to the Premier League club.
“He came across for the two days review that we have in our relationship with Grasshoppers,” the Spaniard said.
“We’re changing a few aspects in order to reach the intensity of the Premier League. It was great to see him, he’s finished the service in the army so he’s got a good opportunity to start working within the parameters that he is going to need.”
Tarashaj will hope to make an impression in pre-season and look to be a part of Martinez’s plans immediately.
With the threat of Romelu Lukaku leaving Goodison this summer, Everton will potentially need attacking reinforcements and this could hand an opportunity to the new man.
