England manager Fabio Capello has included uncapped quartet Andy Carroll, Jay Bothroyd, Chris Smalling and Jordan Henderson in his squad for Wednesday's international friendly with France at Wembley.
Capello has also selected Manchester City full-back Micah Richards as well as Arsenal duo Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs but Liverpool duo Joe Cole and Glen Johnson miss out as does Bolton striker Kevin Davies.
Cardiff forward Bothroyd has been impressive for the Bluebirds in the Championship so far this season and is called into the squad as Wayne Rooney, Darren Bent, Jermain Defoe and Bobby Zamora are all injured.
Carroll has also been superb for Newcastle this term despite his off-field problems while Henderson has impressed at Sunderland.
Smalling has had few first-team chances at Manchester United since his transfer from Fulham but is highly regarded by the England set-up.
Full squad: Foster (Birmingham), Hart (Man City), Green (West Ham); Gibbs (Arsenal), Cole (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Jagielka (Everton), Lescott (Man City), Richards (Man City), Ferdinand (Man Utd), Smalling (Man Utd); Walcott (Arsenal), Wilshere (Arsenal), Young (Aston Villa), Gerrard (Liverpool), Barry (Man City), Johnson (Man City), Milner (Man City), Henderson (Sunderland); Agbonlahor (Aston Villa), Bothroyd (Cardiff), Carroll (Newcastle), Crouch (Tottenham).
