Fabio hits out over Lamps ‘goal’

England head coach Fabio Capello pointed to Frank Lampard's disallowed 'goal' as the key moment in his side's 4-1 thumping by Germany in the last 16 of the World Cup.

With England having pulled a goal back after falling 2-0 behind, Lampard's superb chip of Manuel Neuer hit the underside of the crossbar and bounced down well over the goal-line, but the match officials waived play on.

Germany then cashed in in the second half to secure a comfortable victory, but Capello felt that things could have turned out a lot differently.

He told BBC Sport:"It was the most important moment of the game. Where is the technology? Instead we are talking about goal or no goal.

"The goal was very important, we could have played a different style. We played I think well at 2-1, but after the third goal it was a little bit disappointing.

"We played well. Germany is a big team, they played a good game.

"We made some mistakes when they played the counter-attack. The referee made bigger mistakes. Little things decide the result always."
