Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson remains confident that his side can see off Chelsea and Arsenal to retain their Premier League crown.

Ferguson was in upbeat mood following a 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford, with goals from Wayne Rooney and Ji-Sung Park enough to take United back to the top of the table - two points clear of Arsenal and four clear of Chelsea.

He commented:"We have a very experienced back four and a very experienced goalkeeper. That gives us a real outstanding chance.

"There are seven difficult matches, but we have all got difficult matches, so what does it matter?

"No-one is going away. We are all knocking on doors. If you look at the run-ins for the teams, it could very well go to the wire."

Meanwhile, Ferguson was full of praise for matchwinner Park, adding:"Park is one of those players we can give roles to. He has such intelligence and discipline.

"Today we found another role for him that was slightly different, but was really important for us. He is such a brave little lad that his courage got him the goal."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
