Young Mexico star Javier Hernandez will join Manchester United in the summer from Chivas de Guadalajara for an undsiclosed fee, the Premier League champions have confirmed.

The 21-year-old striker successfully passed a medical in Manchester and his move is now subject to a work permit being granted.

Part of the deal will see the Red Devils take on the Guadalajara-based outfit in a pre-season friendly that will mark the opening of their brand new Chivas Stadium home.

Speaking to the club's official website, Ferguson said:"I am delighted to reach agreement with Chivas to bring such an exciting young striker, who has been in such prolific form for both his club and his country.

"He will be a great addition to our squad and we look forward to welcoming our first Mexican player in the summer.
