Former Arsenal ace receives the praise following West Ham’s win

West Ham rose to third place in the Premier League table following an impressive 3-1 victory over Swansea City at Upton Park.

The Hammers rallied after going a goal down, with an Andy Carroll brace and a returning Diafra Sakho easing Sam Allardyce’s side to all three points.

Speaking after the game, the former Newcastle United manager had this to say:

“The disappointing thing was the first attack Swansea scored but we fought back. If you did not feel like you could jump out of bed and get down here to play football there would be something wrong but the way we expressed ourselves and the quality of the goals was very much what we deserved.

‘Even though there was controversy with the sending off the result always deserved to be ours.

‘For us another three goals in the bag and a big eight days – nine points – I don’t think anyone in the Premier League has done that this week. We are really flying, we have a lot of players fit. The way Alex Song controls that midfield for us is brilliant. He gets the right service to the front men. We will enjoy ourselves for a day or too and get ourselves ready for the next game.’
