Former Liverpool boss to snub Swansea offer in favour of England job

Former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is believed to be ready to snub the chance to make a Swansea City return in favour of the England managerial role, Metro report.

Garry Monk was sacked by the club yesterday after picking up a disappointing run of results as they only managed to register one win from their previous 12 matches in all competitions.

Rodgers emerged as a possible candidate despite only being sacked by the Reds back in October, but is now said to be consider his options.

However, the former Anfield boss could now be targeting the chance to take over from England manager Roy Hodgson after the Euro 2016 competition next summer.

He was previously in charge at the Liberty Stadium before making his move to Liverpool back in 2012, but could now snub a possible return.

Apart from Rodgers, former Manchester United manager David Moyes along with current Rangers boss Mark Warburton have also been linked with the managerial hot seat.
