Former Manchester United star Darren Fletcher has been praised by his new team-mate Craig Gardner, after leading his side to a huge victory over Southampton, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 31-year-old completed a switch from United during the January window, and has already earned himself a captaincy role under Tony Pulis.
Saido Berahino’s strike gave his side a 1-0 victory over the Saints, who were given a major setback in regards to their race for a top four finish.
Victories for Arsenal, United, and Liverpool saw Ronald Koeman’s side drop to sixth in the league, and Gardner praised Fletcher for his display.
“He is brilliant, just the way he is around the dressing room and the training ground and on the pitch, his advice, ” he said.
“He is a true leader. He is someone you can talk to. He was at United for many years which says everything. He’s just a top class person. ”
The Scottish midfielder has already started four matches for the Baggies, and is yet to register his first loss for the side.
Out of his last four clashes, Pulis guided West Brom to a 2-2 draw with Burnley, a 2-0 win over Swansea City, a 0-0 draw with Sunderland, and most recently a 1-0 win over Koeman’s squad.
