Liverpool will be boosted in their chase for Fiorentina star Giuseppe Rossi, with the attacker’s agent revealing that he is ‘99% certain’ that his client will leave this January, according to reports from Football Italia.
Rossi has been heavily linked with a move away from the Artemio Franchi in recent weeks, with the Reds extremely keen on the Italy international.
The 28-year-old has just fully recovered from a serious knee injury that has kept him out for most of last season, but the former Manchester United youth product is now struggling to play on a regular basis.
And Rossi’s agent confirmed that his client will leave to search for first-team football, boosting Liverpool’s chances of signing the striker.
“The club has realised it cannot keep hold of the lad because he wants to play,” agent Federico Pastorello told Radio Marte.
“He will 99 per cent leave Fiorentina in January.”
But the Reds will have some competition from Sampdoria and Bologna, with both Serie A sides monitoring the Viola forward’s situation.
Rossi has made 14 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals.
