Former Tottenham stopper urges fans to back Sherwood

Ex Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson has urged supporters to get behind manager Tim Sherwood despite their recent poor form, as reported by talkSPORT.

Spurs crashed out of the Europa League in midweek at the hands of Benfica and lost to arch-rivals Arsenal at White Hart Lane last Sunday.

Sherwood originally got off to a flying start in charge of the North London club but has come under fire in recent weeks when things haven’t gone as well.

Robinson wants the fans to back the young boss in order for success to return to the Lane instead of talking about a successor for the summer.

“He is only been in the job a short space of time and people are talking about him being replaced already which, in my view, is ridiculous,” Robinson said.

“The chairman obviously thinks he is the right man for the job, he has given him the job, and he has obviously got the support of the players and the staff at the club and the training ground.

“It’s time for people to get behind him and give him time to pull things around. He has not lost the dressing room – you can see that by the way the team is playing.”
