Reports from Nigeria suggest Hull City midfielder Seyi Olofinjana may not return to action until the festive period.
The 29-year-old former Wolves and Stoke City star picked up a hamstring injury during the Super Eagles' 3-2 victory against Kenya last week and looks set to be sidelined for four weeks.
Olofinjana told Nigerian radio station Brila FM: "The doctors have said I will be out of action for about four weeks following my injury in Kenya."
That is bad news for Tigers boss Phil Brown who thought Olofinjana's absence would be shorter.
He had said last week:"Seyi has tweaked his hamstring. I've spoken to him and we'll see how he is with regard to Wednesday against Everton.
"As far as we're concerned it could be a week to ten days or it could be longer."
Olofinjana joined Hull in August from Stoke and has since scored once in ten appearances, with his only goal coming against his former club at the KC Stadium.
