France boss Didier Deschamps has revealed that he thinks Arsenal star Olivier Giroud has lost his confidence after a number of poor displays, according to reports from the Express.
The 29-year-old is currently being rotated with Theo Walcott, but has started on the bench for the past few fixtures.
Manager Arsene Wenger has been using Walcott up top ever since Giroud picked up a red card in the 2-1 Champions League defeat to Dinamo Zagreb last month, with the England international now on good form.
Deschamps believes that the France striker is going through a rough patch and because of his limited playing time, it is directly affecting his confidence.
“He was sent off in the Champions League with Arsenal and couldn’t play in their last match in the competition. He’s not playing as much as before,” he said.
“Inevitably, his confidence has diminished.”
However, despite being drop by Wenger, he is expected to play for his national team when they face Armenia and Denmark during the international break.
The forward has started three Premier League matches this term and has featured from the bench a further five times, managing to register three goals so far.
