French midfielder won’t rule out Premier League return

Former Tottenham and Fulham midfielder Steed Malbranque has admitted that he will be looking for a new club this summer, as reported by Sky Sports.

Malbranque is unlikely to be offered a new contract with Lyon this summer when his current deal expires and so another search for a new team will begin again.

The Belgian born midfielder, who has been called up by France but never gained  a cap, has admitted that he is still in contact with people from the Premier League and so that could be an option this summer.

However, a stay in France for his family is the aim at present.

“For now, I have had no meeting to talk about a prolongation, so it will be difficult. I don’t think there will be any continuation with Lyon,” Malbranque told L’Equipe

“My first wish is to go on playing. I still have desire. Going on here, why not, if the club wants me to stay?

“I have some contacts in Premier League, but leaving again is not my priority now. It would rather be staying in Ligue 1.”
