The Cottagers have agreed a £5million deal to sign the England international who is out of favour at Villa Park under boss Paul Lambert.
Bent is used to clubs paying big money for him with the likes of Tottenham, Sunderland and Aston Villa splashing the cash to get his signature but Fulham’s modest fee could rejuvenate his career.
Newcastle and Cardiff have been Fulham’s competition to sign the 29 year old but both have now ended their interest with other players on their radars.
Bent could form a partnership with Dimitar Berbatov at Craven Cottage that will no doubt delight the West London club’s fans.
Fulham boss Martin Jol worked briefly with Bent at Tottenham and is desperate to add his goals to the improving Cottagers side.
Bent has two years remaining on his current contract after costing £18million plus add-ons back in 2011.
