Sunderland have accepted an offer from Fulham for left-back Kieran Richardson, according to Sky Sports.
The Cottagers are eager to add a new face or two to their squad before the transfer window closes at the end of the week, and have approached the Black Cats over the versatility player.
Martin O’Neill has confirmed that he has accepted an offer for the defender, who can also play on the left-wing, and that Richardson now will decide where he wants to play his football.
“A club has made an offer for him today and we, as a club, have accepted that, and it gives Kieran the opportunity to find out for himself,” the Northern Irish manager confessed.
“If it doesn’t materialise and he comes back, I’ll still be pleased, but it’s a position we might have to go and have a look at.”
Richardson was not included in the Stadium of Light club’s Captial One Cup victory over Morecambe on Tuesday night.
