Christian Benteke’s future at Anfield is under heavy jeopardy after a number of disappointing performances, Daily Mail reports.
The 25-year-old completed his move to Anfield during the previous summer window, but has so far failed to replicate his Aston Villa form which earned him a £32.5million transfer.
It is now said that manager Jurgen Klopp is still unsure over whether Benteke is ready to become his first choice striker and may now need to consider alternatives in the next window.
Star striker Daniel Sturridge is still out injured after being unable to fully recover from a previous knock and has hardly featured this season.
The Belgium international will still have time to prove his worth, but could see chances hard to come by if Sturridge manages to stay fit on a weekly basis.
He has already started 12 Premier League matches while featuring from the bench a further five time this term, so far scoring six goals and providing another one assist.
