Departing Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is being tipped to reject an approach from Arsenal over the possibility of joining Liverpool, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The 47-year-old has been linked with a move to one of the top Premier League sides ever since the previous summer, with the Gunners and the Reds both possible destinations.
Manchester United were also considering the idea of luring Klopp away from the Bundesliga after sacking former Everton boss David Moyes, but instead went with Louis van Gaal.
However, the German manager’s decision to leave Dortmund at the end of the campaign has alerted many clubs to his availability.
With United and Van Gaal finally hitting form following a nervy first few months, the Dutchman’s job in the dugout looks quite safe at the moment.
In addition, manager Arsene Wenger has led his Arsenal squad to second in the league, meaning it is unlikely that there will be any major managerial changes.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers’ job at Anfield is currently in heavy jeopardy following their 2-1 semi-final defeat to Aston Villa, with Klopp lined up as a possible replacement.
