German giants join Chelsea and Man United in race for £30m attacker

Chelsea and Manchester United have been joined by Bayern Munich in the race for Southampton star Sadio Mane, Daily Star reports.

The 23-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent months following speculation that United boss Louis van Gaal was looking to add another attacker into his squad.

However, the Dutchman will face heavy competition in the race to sign Mane given that both Bayern and Chelsea are also keen on acquiring his services.

The forward is also said to be favouring a move, but could cost all the interested parties around the £30million region.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has revealed his desire to keep hold of the Senegal international who is still tied down on a deal until 2018.

Koeman is expecting him to remain at St Mary’s Stadium throughout the January window, but could be forced to see him leave during the summer.
