Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels is close to making a move to Manchester United after revealing to his Germany team-mates that he is preparing to leave the club, Mirror reports.
Hummels has been heavily linked with a transfer to Old Trafford since last summer, but the defender decided to remain with the BVB for at least another season.
However, Dortmund’s year has not gone according to plan, with Jurgen Klopp’s side in the relegation zone during the first half of the campaign.
This has caused Hummels to grow frustrated at the club, and the 26-year-old is nearing the exit door after telling team-mates a deal is close to an agreement.
The former Bayern Munich centre-back is expected to cost the Red Devils £35million to fund the transfer, but the price won’t be an issue with United set to be given another transfer kitty of £150million.
Hummels has played 17 league games this season, scoring one goal.
