Manchester United will send Ryan Giggs for X-rays on Thursday after the veteran winger picked up a worrying elbow injury during Wednesday's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa.
Giggs, 36, was replaced in the 74th minute of the Villa Park encounter following an accidental collision with Villa midfielder Steve Sidwell.
He is now a major doubt for next week's Champions League last 16 first leg meeting with AC Milan in Italy.
"We have sent Ryan for an X-ray to see if there is any damage," said United boss Sir Alex Ferguson at full-time.
"It is very painful but hopefully he is going to be all right."
