West Ham United co-owner David Gold has suggested that Aston Villa are interested in midfielder Scott Parker.
The Hammers insist that Parker is not for sale on the back of an impressive last season as part of a struggling squad.
However, Gold has suggested that Villa have made a tentative enquiry for the former Charlton, Chelsea and Newcastle United midfielder, as they could lose England international James Milner to big-spending suitors Manchester City.
"He is not for sale, but who would have thought Ronaldo could leave Manchester United," he said.
"If Manchester City pay £50million for James Milner, then Aston Villa have that £50million and they are going to want to replace Milner."
Parker joined the Hammers from Newcastle in 2007 and has gone on to make 85 appearances for the Upton Park club.
