Manchester United completed the clean sweep of trophies in Stockholm last night when they beat Ajax 2-0 to lift the Europa League and earn themselves Champions League football for next season.

A spot at Europe's top table will be a huge boost to Mourinho's transfer prospects this season, with the main target seemingly being Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.

The French international, who took the step into the highest bracket of European talents with his performances at Euro 2016 last summer, has long been mooted as a target for the Red Devils and now, having sealed a spot in the Champions League for next season, The Telegraph's northern football correspondent James Ducker expects the much-speculated transfer deal to go through.

Ducker also revealed that the Atleti star, who has scored 26 goals this season, wants the deal over the line within the next 2-3 weeks before he is set to go away on his honeymoon.
