Icelandic midfielder Joey Gudjonsson has left Burnley after agreeing a mutual termination of his contract with the relegated Premier League club.
Gudjonsson, 29, was out of contract at Turf Moor next month but has been allowed to leave ahead of schedule.
The midfielder was recently suspended by the Clarets after claiming before a must-win game against Hull City that manager Brian Laws had lost the support of the players.
"Burnley Football Club would like to thank Joey for his service during an historic time in the club's history and wish him every success in his future career," read a brief club statement.
Gudjonsson joined the Clarets in 2007 and scored seven goals in 109 appearances before finding himself surplus to requirements this season.
