West Ham United boss Gianfranco Zola is reported to have stated his intent to try and bring talented Internazionale forward Mario Balotelli to Upton Park in the January transfer window.
The 19-year-old has struggled for first-team action at the San Siro, but Zola believes that he can help a slightly wayward talent.
He told the Corriere dello Sport:"If Inter want to talk about him in January we are ready.
"Mario has extraordinary potential, but he must understand that he has to improve, showing the right attitude.
"Last summer there was a time when we asked about him. In January, we will see what intention they have. Sure if he does leave Milan, we would not be the only ones who want him."
Zola had earlier refused to be drawn on speculation linking the Irons with a move for out-of-favour Bayern Munich frontman Luca Toni.
The Italian added of his compatriot:"He is a player who has got experience, has scored goals and has presence in the box and he might be good for us.
"There is speculation, but I don't like talking about players that aren't here. I'd rather talk about how I can face the situation with the players I've got."
