Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp believes that there is plenty more to come from Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart.

The 27-year-old has scored seven goals in 11 games since his arrival from Real Madrid, but Redknapp feels that the Netherlands ace has yet to adjust fully to the pace of the game in England.

He told reporters:"He should be okay for the weekend against Blackburn. He got tired, didn't he? He disappeared a bit, second half against Sunderland.

"He's got to get fitter and adapt to playing 90 minutes in the Premier League.

"He's a fantastic player, but I think he does just run out of steam a little bit at the moment."

Meanwhile, striker Roman Pavlyuchenko hopes to recover from a back spasm to feature against Rovers this weekend.

The Russia international commented:"On Wednesday I had a check-up which, thank God, revealed only a muscle spasm.

"I'm walking gingerly, but I'm being intensively treated with acupuncture and massages. I hope that, after a couple of days, everything will return to normal."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
