Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp is happy that is club are on the verge of completing a deal to sign highly-rated Brazilian midfielder Sandro from Internacional.

The 21-year-old is set to fly to London for a medical, although any deal will be reliant on Sandro gaining a work permit.

Redknapp said:"It would be fantastic.

"The chairman has been dealing with it. I got a phone call from the chairman saying that he thought we were close to doing it.

"Hopefully it will get done now and it will be a good signing.

"He is an outstanding young player. He is on the verge of the Brazilian team and he has already played for Brazil and captained the Under-18s, 19s and 21s.
