A concerned Martin Mattermore looks at the prospect of a Harry Redknapp
reign at N17. Let us have your views.
Harry Redknapp took over the Tottenham Hotspur hot seat today and got an
immediate response from the players. Whatever you thought or feel about Ramos,
his achievements and the way he left the club, it is fair to say there was a fresh
air of anticipation at White Hart
Lane for those hard fought 90 minutes.
I'm more confident now that I was this time yesterday that Tottenham will
get out of our current relegation position however I'm far from convince that
this is the start of an all conquering era for my beloved Spurs.
Lets face facts Redknapp even with all his wheeling and dealing is a modern
day Gerry Francis, that in itself is no bad thing, he is a great man manager,
motivator and get the most from his players but like Gerry is this big and prestigious
club going too much for the guy to handle? Spells at West Ham, Bournemouth, Southampton were all less than inspiring. Only at Portsmouth did he start
to look like a good manager and first time around he chucked all that in for
another job across the port. What does that tell you about the guy?
I just wonder what we are getting here? Are we buying our way out
relegation, is old ‘Arry the saviour we have been looking for? I certainly hope
so but I fear not, lets pray to chirpy that I'm wrong and we won't be sacking this "one", I'm
sure he isn't special or perfect, at half time on a European night or less than
24 hours before a big game in under 2 years time. Knee jerk reactions are
common place at WHL these days lets hope one of them pays off and soon….
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? IS HARRY THE MAN?
