Portsmouth manager Paul Hart was left frustrated after seeing his side slip to a 3-1 defeat to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park.
Pompey led by a Jamie O'Hara strike at the interval, but crumbled against a rejuvenated home side in the second 45 minutes.
Hart told the club's official website:"If you don't defend set-pieces against Blackburn then you're going to be in trouble.
"We've been done on set-pieces when 60 per cent of Blackburn's goals come from them. We knew all the stats and we've worked to stop it.
"We defended them magnificently in the first half and played well. We were absolutely terrific in our defending with everything that was thrown at us.
"We were very pleased. We were in control and there was no real trouble for us, but after the break we conceded three from set-pieces and that's sacrilege.
"I don't think we've been undone by any great genius and I say that with the greatest of respect for Blackburn.
"David James didn't have a save to make."
