Hazard hints at Tottenham move

In demand Lille playmaker Eden Hazard has stated that he may well end up at Tottenham in the summer, and called the north London outfit a ‘great club’.

The Belgium international has been the standout player in Ligue 1 over the last number of seasons, and led Rudi Garcia’s side to the French championship last term.

Despite being heavily linked with Arsenal, and the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Inter keeping tabs on him, Hazard has stated that his future could be at White Hart Lane.

“It could well be Tottenham,” he stated on Belgian TV channel RTBF when quizzed about his next club.

“They are a great English club. I have said that I will go to play in England, and there are some very good players at Tottenham.”

The comments come on the back of reports in France that Hazard had already signed for Harry Redknapp’s men, but this has not been confirmed or denied.

Meanwhile, Tottenham forward Emmanuel Adebayor has stated that it is a relief to have broken his goal drought after scoring in Spurs’ 5-0 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

“I had a tough time. I didn’t score for a few games but I came back and scored and I made a lot of assists,” the African marksman told Spurs TV Online.

“It’s good for the confidence. We are all human. When you go through four, five, six games without scoring you start questioning yourself.

“You start saying: ‘what is happening? What is wrong?’

“I got some stick from my team-mates as well – in a good way – so I was happy to score and to help the team win.

“I’ve worked hard in training and my team-mates all believe in me and what I can do,” he concluded.
