Aston Villa are sweating on the results of a scan on the groin injury sustained by striker Emile Heskey in the 1-0 victory at home to Stoke City.
Heskey lasted just 24 minutes of the game on Saturday, before limping off to be replaced by John Carew, who went on to score the only goal of the game.
Boss Martin O'Neill said: "Emile's groin is the problem although he was feeling a bit better after the game. We are hoping for the best, but we won't know until after the scan."
Meanwhile. O'Neill called his side's 1-0 victory at home to Stoke their 'best win of the season'.
He added:"My own view is it may well be our best win of the season so far. We had to really dig deep.
"There were passages in the first half where we played really well, but Stoke were dangerous all the time.
"We got the goal and there were a lot of last-ditch tackles with players prepared to put their bodies on the line.
"We got over the line and it was a great win for us after going to Old Trafford last Saturday evening and then away to Sunderland in midweek.
"The Premier League is unbelievably difficult, but the players are playing with so much confidence and a lot of desire."
