Fulham manager Roy Hodgson has reiterated his desire to stay with the club in the aftermath of their 3-2 Premier League win over West Ham United on Sunday.

USA international Clint Dempsey opened the scoring just before the interval before Carlton Cole's own goal extended their lead in the second half.

The England front-man redeemed himself by netting at the right end but Stefano Chuka Okaka sealed the win for Fulham with ten minutes to go.

There was still time for the Hammers to grab a last-gasp consolation through Guillermo Franco but Hodgson was pleased to end their home campaign with a victory.

Speaking to reporters, he said:"I wanted to win. I didn't want to have an 'After the Lord Mayor's Show' feeling.

"I thought our performance was very disciplined and hard-working and that we were good value for our victory. I'm delighted we could rest some players and I'm pleased with those who came in."

After guiding the unfashionable Cottagers to the Final of this season's Europa League competition, Hodgson's stock has risen considerably with a number of clubs, including Liverpool, rumoured to be interested in his services.

However, he has played down the reports while insisting he is more than happy in the capital, adding:"I'm happy here at Fulham. I've got a contract here at Fulham. I'm happy with the job I'm doing.

"My name is sufficiently strong at the moment to be linked with other jobs and, of course, that is flattering and it is nice to hear but as far as I'm concerned it is speculation because I 'm at Fulham.

"We all prefer praise to criticism and love to hatred. It would be ludicrous to suggest I'm not enjoying people saying and writing nice things about me and the team. But I'm trying to keep a level head and keep things in perspective."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
