Houston hints at Terrors future

Peter Houston has hinted he is ready to commit his future to Dundee United following Saturday's Scottish Cup Final victory over Ross County.

Houston has guided the Terrors to third place in the Scottish Premier League table and a first cup win for 16 years since taking the managerial reins on an interim basis following Craig Levein's departure to become Scotland's new manager midway through the season.

The first-team coach has continually remained coy over his managerial future but dropped strong hints that he would be staying on following Saturday's 3-0 victory over First Division Ross County at Hampden Park.

"It is a case of talks to see where we are going," he said."It's bits and pieces we want to chat about. It will get resolved.

"I think it is healthy to chat because we want to continue to do well. If it comes to the bit when I am offered the job then I have someone to speak for me. Who knows where that takes me though. If I get offered it I want it.

"I am pleased to be the manager of Dundee United and very proud of the fact we have won the Scottish Cup as it goes in the record books.

"No-one can take that away from me."
