Houston set for Terrors job

Dundee United are set to appoint Peter Houston as their permanent manager after calling a press conference for Tuesday.

Interim manager Houston guided the Terrors to third place in the Scottish Premier League table and a first Scottish Cup win for 16 years since taking the managerial reins on an interim basis following Craig Levein's departure.

He has continually refused to discuss his long-term plans but is now reportedly set to sign a three-year contract at Tannadice.

Speaking after the cup final victory over First Division Ross County earlier this month, Houston commented:"It is a case of talks to see where we are going. It's bits and pieces we want to chat about.

"I am pleased to be the manager of Dundee United and very proud of the fact we have won the Scottish Cup as it goes in the record books.

"No-one can take that away from me."
