Everton have been given a huge boost after manager Roberto Martinez confirmed that John Stones is fit to feature against Manchester United this weekend, according to reports from the Express.
The 21-year-old was unable to feature for his side’s last two league matches against West Bromwich Albion and Liverpool due to a knee injury.
He was also left out of the squad by England manager Roy Hodgson for the two European 2016 qualifiers where the Three Lions were already guaranteed a place in the competition.
Martinez has now revealed that he believes Stones will be ready in time to feature against United this Saturday as the player continues to work on his match fitness.
“I think he should be ready,” he said.
“Remember that John has been having a lot of quality work at Finch Farm and it will be a matter of just getting that match fitness.
“I would say medically he is ready now. He’s been joining the group and from a medical point of view I don’t think there is a concern or worry.”
The Toffees will look to continue their good run of form when they host the Red Devils as they are yet to register a loss from their previous five Premier League matches.
Another boost for the club will be the return of right-back Seamus Coleman who was forced to sit out of the team’s last three league fixtures with a hamstring injury.
