Hughton says Norwich survival makes him proud

Chris Hughton Norwich BossChris Hughton has described guiding Norwich City to Premier League survival as his proudest achievement in football.

The Canaries’ emphatic 4-0 win over West Brom at Carrow Road on Sunday ensured their fate will not go down to next weekend’s final day of the season.

And it means Hughton can begin planning for new and more ambitious goals next season – armed with the signing of Dutch goal-getter Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

“It means absolutely everything,” said former Newcastle and Birmingham boss Hughton.

“I’m not the most outwardly emotional person, but I’m chewing up inside.

“It’s certainly my most satisfying (achievement), because of the pressure of the day.

“For this club, for this moment and the pressure on this game, this would probably be my proudest moment.”
