Hull ace targets FA Cup glory

Hull wide-man Ahmed Elmohamady says that he is thrilled with his side’s run to the FA Cup semi-finals, and that he is hopeful that they can lift the trophy at Wembley.

The Tigers beat Sunderland to secure a spot in the final four and a trip to the national stadium where they will face League One side Sheffield United.

With the Blades the lowest ranked side in the competition, Hull are already being tipped to make the final, where they will face one of Arsenal or Wigan.

Elmohamady says that he is enjoying this season and despite Premier League safety being the main aim, an FA Cup win would be an excellent achievement:

“It’s been great for me,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“First to come here on loan and get promoted out of the Championship and now we are going to Wembley. I hope it doesn’t end there.

“We want to finish as high up the Premier League as possible and get to the final. To win the cup would be fantastic for the fans and for the club.

“We’ve got a very good chance of staying up and to be in the semi-finals as well is great.”

Elmohamady went to reveal his excitement as the possibility of Europa League qualification for next season:

“We play against Sheffield United and if we beat them we go to the final. Then we’ll be thinking of Europe and that would be another massive thing.

“It’s a massive step first against Sheffield United but even if we didn’t win the FA Cup we could still be in Europe.”

Steve Bruce’s men are currently enjoying their first season back in the top tier, and have been playing some impressive football.
