Hull boss set to make move for Manchester United defender

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has admitted that he may give Rio Ferdinand a call about coming to the KC Stadium next season, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Tigers heartbreakingly lost at Wembley yesterday after Aaron Ramsey scored the winner for Arsenal in the FA Cup final.

Hull were 2-0 up after ten minutes but still came away empty handed and so Bruce is now keen to make this summer a productive one to avoid any hangover in his squad.

Ferdinand has been told he can leave United when his contract expires next month and so a number of clubs including West Ham and Arsenal are keeping an eye on his situation.

Bruce may well make the first move though as he looks to toughen up his defence which was breeched too easily by an out of sorts Arsenal side yesterday..

“We’ve cast an eye over a few things, I haven’t looked into that yet,” he said.

“Rio has been a wonderful player… who knows?

“If he fancies a game, once we’ve got over the weekend, then I’ll see if we’ll give him a call.”
