Tigers chief Steve Bruce has made a goalscorer his top transfer target after watching his team struggle in front of goal last season.
Having grown frustrated in his attempts to lure Celtic’s Gary Hooper and Charlie Austin of Burnley to the KC Stadium he has now set his sights on Holt.
The no-nonsense striker is available for around £2million after falling way down the pecking order at Carrow Road, despite being a key member of the squad that achieved promotion to, and then maintained safety in, the Premier League.
Holt is said to be keen on a return to the north of England, an opportunity that Hull can offer.
Bruce sees the 32-year-old as the ideal man to provide a guaranteed goalscoring threat and fire his side to another season in the top flight.
However, he will have to fight off Crystal Palace who are also keen on the attacking front man.
Hull are also said to still be tracking Aston Villa outcast Darren Bent, although there are concerns regarding the former England international’s wage demands.
Could Grant Holt provide the firepower needed to keep Hull in the Premier League?
