Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent has stated that although speculation linking the striker to Manchester United is growing, the Swedish star is not guaranteed to end up at Old Trafford.
The powerful centre forward’s contract at French giants Paris Saint-Germain is coming to an end and he has announced that he will leave the Parc des Princes as a free agent this summer.
A scramble for Ibrahimovic’s services looks set to ensue, with a wealth of teams across the continent eager to land the experienced Scandinavian on a free transfer.
With United appointing Jose Mourinho and eager to add new faces to their squad this summer in a bid to get back into contention for major silverware, the Red Devils are seen in many corners as leading the race for the Swede’s services.
However, Mino Raiola has stated that although the rumblings are gathering pace, Ibrahimovic’s switch to United is not a foregone conclusion.
“There are some clubs in England, a few clubs in Europe, some outside Europe, but everyone assumes he must go to Manchester United and it’s not true,” Raiola told Swedish paper Expressen.
“We could well pull a surprise at the end. Will he retire? Absolutely not.”
Ibrahimovic worked with Mourinho at Inter Milan and has been full of praise for the Portuguese manager in the past.
