Incoming Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is looking to sign Manchester United targets Ilkay Gundogan and Aymeric Laporte, Express reports.
The current Bayern Munich boss is said to have already made a verbal agreement with City over a possible move in the summer.
He is now planning for the future as he targets the two mentioned players to reinforce the squad ahead of his potential arrival at the end of the season.
United have been linked with the pair ever since the previous summer as they could be alerted by a possible move from their rivals.
Gundogan is a prominent figure in midfield for Borussia Dortmund, so far featuring in all of his club’s Bundesliga matches this term and is also a target for Serie A giants Juventus.
Laporte has constantly been linked with a switch to Old Trafford as United look to reinforce their centre-back positions, but will need to trigger his £37million release clause to begin negotiations.
