Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has revealed that star midfielder Francis Coquelin could return for the Gunners’ Champions League clash against Olympiakos this Tuesday, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The Gunners are coming off a good weekend where they smashed five goals past previously unbeaten Leicester City at the KingPower Stadium, winning 5-2 on the night with Alexis Sanchez grabbing a hattrick.
But on Tuesday, the London club are hoping to get their first win in Europe this season after losing Dinamo Zagreb 2-1 in their opening fixture, and Wenger has given an update on his current injury table.
“Coquelin could be available for Tuesday,” Wenger said.
“Today we lost Mathieu Flamini (hamstring) and the only one that could come back is Coquelin and Gabriel is not suspended.”
However, Wenger will be without the likes of Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, and Tomas Rosicky, with the trio still recovering from long-term injury issues.
After their Champions League clash, Arsenal will host current league leaders Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday in what is expected to be a thrilling top-of-the-table encounter.
